Concessions Staffer
Description:
Concessions Staffers sale and serve pre-packaged items from our concession stand. Staffers will be responsible for cleanup and cash box management.
Requirements:
Must be willing to help customers pay via QR, when needed. Must do an opening and a closing cash box report before and after shifts. Light restock of items may be required.
Art Gallery Sales Attendant
Description:
The Fly Art Gallery Sale Attendant will assist visitors with purchases, answer basic questions about the art and our organization during their shift.
Requirements:
Must be willing to help customers make purchases with their phone using a QR code or by using a computer provided by The Fly.
Tickets/Box Office
Description:
Assist patrons before each performance at The Fly Community Theatre with ticket sales and seat verification as they arrive.
Requirements:
Must be willing to use a computer provided by The Fly to sale and verify tickets.
Art Gallery Exhibition Staffer
Description:
Art Gallery Exhibition Staffers will help assist setup and take down of all art exhibits, such as the Featured Artist exhibit and others.
Requirements:
Must be willing to do light lifting. Must have knowledge of The Fly Art Gallery's hanging system or must be willing to learn.
Art Exhibition Opening Reception Staffer
Description:
Art Exhibition Opening Staffer will assist is the setup, take down and clean up during opening receptions for art exhibitions.
Requirements:
Must be able to do light lifting.
Arts Center Front Desk Attendant
Description:
The Front Desk Attendants for The Fly Arts Center are stationed at our front desk area are are responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors with their needs during their assigned shift. In addition, attendants must answer phone calls, take notes and forward those notes to the appropriate person, help sign up volunteers, help visitors sign up to receive our emails and assist with the sale of memberships.
Requirements:
Must be willing to use a computer provided by The Fly to sign up new members, renew memberships, sign up visitors to our email list and sign up new volunteers. Must be knowledgeable about our organization and all upcoming events.
Theatre Usher
Description:
Theatre Ushers are responsible for helping our patrons find their seats before each performance at The Fly Community Theatre. They should also be ready to answer questions and provide patrons with basic information, like where the restrooms are located.
Requirements:
Must be willing to learn the basics of our seating chart.
Theatre Set Builder
Description:
Theatre Set Builders will help the producers and directors of our productions construct sets based on the specifications set for each show.
Requirements:
Must be ok with light to heavy lifting. Must have basic to advanced construction knowledge. Must be willing to work within the guidelines and budget of each production.
Theatre Costume Designer
Description:
Theatre Costume Designer must work along side producers, directors and the cast to create appropriate costumes for each scene in a production.
Requirements:
Must be knowledgeable in stage costume construction and/or wardrobe styling. Must be willing to create costumes based on show specifications provided by the producers/directors. Sewing experience and wig styling is a plus.
The Fly Garden Club
Description:
The Fly Garden Club is responsible for maintaining the Butterfly/Pollinators Garden located along South Main Street.
Requirements:
Must be willing to work outside in the garden space.
Art Class Instructor
Description:
Art Class Instructors are responsible for instructing and guiding students throughout the scheduled class time.
Requirements:
Must have a level of proficiency in the class subject material to be taught.
Theatre Workshop Instructor
Description:
Theatre Workshop Instructors are responsible for instructing and guiding students throughout the scheduled class time.
Requirements:
Must have a level of proficiency in the class subject material to be taught.
Theatre Lighting Technician
Description:
Theatre Lighting Technicians are responsible for working with the producer and director to create the required stage lighting setup for each production. Technicians will be required to run the lighting during both scheduled rehearsals and performances.
Requirements:
Must use The Fly Community Theatre's equipment to meet the needs and specifications set by the producer and the director of each production. A working knowledge of stage lighting is required.
Theatre Sound Technician
Description:
Theatre Sound Technicians are required to work along side the producer and the director to create the needed sound design (sound effects, music, etc) setup for each production. Technicians will be required to run the sound during both scheduled rehearsals and performances.
Requirements:
Must use The Fly Community Theatre's equipment to meet the needs and specifications set by the producer and the director of each production. A working knowledge of stage sound design is required.
Youth Program Staffer
Description:
Youth Program Event Staffers are responsible for the supervision of program participants to ensure safety during all Youth Program activities.
Requirements:
Must be willing to supervise children and teens.
Event Setup Staffer
Description:
Event Setup Staffers are responsible for setup of each event and must work along side the event coordinator/committee chair to their specifications.
Requirements:
Must be able to do light to heavy lifting.
Event Take Down Staffer
Description:
Event Take Down Staffer are responsible for take down of each event and must work along side the event coordinator/committee chair to their specifications.
Requirements:
Must be able to do light to heavy lifting.
Event Coordinator/Committee Chair
Description:
Event Coordinator/Committee Chair are responsible to all points of planning and execution of their assigned event and must build a committee to assign, while also managing all volunteers assigned to the event.
Requirements:
Must have event planning experience. Must be organized and detail orientated.
Dinner Theatre Server
Description:
Dinner Theatre Servers are required to function as wait staff during all meals prior to each dinner theatre performance.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old. Must wear a black shirt, black pants and black shoes. Must be able to do light lifting.
Concessions Staffer - Alcohol Service
Description:
Concession Staffers focused on alcohol service are required to serve alcoholic beverage to patrons from our concession stand. Staffers will be responsible for cleanup and cash box management.
Requirements:
Must be willing to help customers pay via QR, when needed. Must do an opening and a closing cash box report before and after shifts. Light restock of items may be required. Must have a basic knowledge of how to make simple cocktails based on a preset menu. Bar tending skills are a plus.
ID Verification Staffer - Alcohol Service
Description:
ID Verification Staffers are responsible for checking the IDs of each person planning to make an alcohol purchase from our concession stand to verify they are of legal drinking age before attaching an armband on their wrist.
Requirements:
Must check every patron's ID who requests an alcohol purchaser armband, to ensure they are of legal drinking age.
Event Staffer - General
Description:
General Event Staffers are required to work along side the event coordinators/committee chairs during assigned events to ensure effect operations and manage visitor needs.
Requirements:
Must be willing to be flexible in your role for the event and take director for the event coordinator/committee chair.
Venue Rental Manager
Description:
Venue Rental Managers must set appointments to meet and meet with potential renters and confirmed renters of the McGrew Reception Hall to provide access to the building and answer any questions.
Requirements:
Must be willing to contact rental leads to set appointments, schedule rental dates, answer questions, receive payment and take/return deposits.
Field Trip Guide
Description:
Field Trip Guides are responsible for meeting with and providing assess to pre-scheduled community groups wishing to visit the arts center.
Requirements:
Must have basic knowledge about the organization, our programs and the history of our building.
Community Event Table Attendant
Description:
Community Event Table Attendants will staff tables at events within our community organized outside of The Fly Arts Center to promote our programs, services and upcoming events to attendees. Help sign up new volunteers, members and email subscribers.
Requirements:
Must be willing to be a representative of The Fly Arts Center. Must have basic knowledge of our programs, services and upcoming events. Must be willing to utilize a laptop to help sign up attendees interested in volunteering, becoming a member or signing up for our email alerts. Must be ok with light lifting to setup table.
Special Events Committee Member
Description:
The Fly Arts Center hosts several special events each year, including: - Festival of Trees (November through December) - Dia de los Muertos Arts and Souls Festival (Late October-Early November) - Postcard Show (April and September) We need volunteers to help us create, plan and schedule community and arts centered special events and festivals. More events and festivals are being added all the time. Please check our website FlyArtsCenter.com to stay up-to-date on all of our upcoming events.
Theatre Stage Manager/Stage Hand
Description:
Theatre Stage Managers and Stage Hands help make sure the performances at The Fly Community Theatre run smoothly by assisting in back of the house operations, such as coordinating set changes and other details with the director and producer to their specifications.
Requirements:
Must be able to do light to heavy lifting. Must be at all rehearsals and performances.
Theatre Director
Description:
Theatre Directors are responsible for the creative and practical aspects of a theatrical production, including: • Interpreting the script: Directors read and analyze the script and its characters, and use their own artistic interpretation to create a cohesive play • Casting: Directors assemble the cast for the production Collaborating with designers: Directors work with designers on the set, costuming, lighting, and sound and music • Planning rehearsals: Directors plan rehearsals and guide the actors during them • Guiding actors: Directors guide actors through their roles and lines, and control the pacing of scenes • Implementing blocking and choreography: Directors implement blocking and choreography for the production
Requirements:
Must have experience as a Director or Assistant Director for theatrical productions.
Dinner Theatre Host
Description:
Help seat guests at their tables and do coat check.
Concessions - Bar Tender
Description:
Mix simple specialty cocktails for the event and serve wine and beer.
Requirements:
Must be over the age of 21.
